In September Hurricane Irene caused extensive damage to the east coast, especially Nags Head. The storm didn’t damage most of the nice vacation homes – just the homes of those in poverty; just the individuals and families who have it hard enough. As if this wasn’t bad enough, FEMA funds can’t touch the exgagerated costs of labor contractors are now charging to repair their homes. This is where we can help.

If you want to party hard and forget any good times you have over spring break – you can do that. But if you really want to make a difference, help someone in need, and remember an amazing time … the people of the Outer Banks would really appreciate it. Plus, the NC Outer Banks isn’t a bad place to spend spring break.

Nothing in the Bible is more controversial than the book of Revelation. Its radical visions, creatures, and signs have captivated people’s imagination for almost two thousand years. Revelation Twenty Twelve will help unpack the mystery and get the record straight. For the next four Tuesdays we will unpack this apocalyptical writing and give meaning to all the symbols, beasts, colors, seals and numbers.

Haitians faced the adversities of life on a daily basis even before a devastating earthquake struck January 2010. Although Haiti was devastated with the massive earthquake of 2010 there is hope in the midst of struggle. We have an opportunity to help restore some of this hope to this broken region. Our May 2010 Haiti Mission is not for the casual traveler. If you feel that you have a strong sense of service to others, work well under pressure, have an incredible amount of patience and flexibility handling the toughest situations, and a tug at your heart to make a difference then you may just be qualified.

Trip Date

• Trip 1: May 13-May 20 … set between UNC Charlotte’s graduation and the first day of summer session 1. Ideal for UNC Charlotte and Central Piedmont Students.

Steps to Take

During the Advent & Christmas seasons (exam time) Niner United and Uptown United will have a modified schedule. Advent is a time filled with expectancy. Despite that our schedule has changed, it remains our hope that you meet the grace of Jesus Christ during this season like a mother expects a newborn child. Prepare your hearts, something will happen.

Thursday December 8 … Reading Day – Student Center Quite Hours

Thursday December 8 … Student Center will be transformed into a prayer space, open all day for quite reflection, contemplation and meditation. Different Bible verses and translations will be available with spiritual music that should help prepare you for exams. 10am – 6pm

Wish your fall break was longer? Wish you had one last chance before finals to take a break from everything and just relax? If so, join Niner United as we go camping November 4-6. We will be going to a local farmland to camp out for the weekend.

The best part? There is no cost to you. All you have to do is bring your camping supplies, any special foods you want to grill, games you want to play (Frisbee, corn hole, horse shoes, etc) and most importantly, you! We will spend the weekend together in fellowship relaxing and enjoying the outdoors…a fail-safe way to avoid the stress of school for just a couple of days. Make sure to also bring your Bible, because on Sunday we will have a short devotion from Steve!

Don’t let not having a ride or camping supplies stop you! We will all carpool over there and also we have a few camping supplies that we can loan you.
