Winter Months … (Mondays at Advent Lutheran & Saturdays at Holy Comforter Episcopal) Room in the Inn is a cold-weather month overnight shelter with meals, transportation and Bible study to the homeless. Students are always needed to drive shuttle vans, setup rooms, cook supper for guests, visit with guests, cook breakfast for guests, and/or clean up. Room in the Inn is a ministry of the Urban Ministry Center.

Dates Coming Soon. We do more work with Habitat for Humanity than any other collegiate / young adult ministry in Charlotte. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry which strives to bring affordable housing to those who are ineligible for conventional financing. Families are required to invest 400 hours of “sweat equity” into building their own home, and you can help provide the rest.

We focus upon meeting the basic housing needs of Charlotte’s Urban Ministry Center’s chronically homeless program. In meeting these needs, it is our desire to develop relationships with brand new homeowners, who are now off the streets. Yet, most of these homes are in need of serious repair. So, let’s serve the way Christ served by providing for the physical spiritual.
